Meet the Preschool Team!
Kelli Wheeler (Kay)
Integrated Preschool Teacher
The 2017-2018 school year will be my sixth year as the Integrated Preschool Teacher at Stewartsboro. Prior to this, I taught a self-contained Special Education class in Hamilton county for one year. I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with certifications in both General and Special Education through third grade-- however, you likely won't find me anywhere other than with my Preschool babies!
On a personal note, my husband is a Firefighter for the City of Murfreesboro. He and I have two full-of-energy boys, Kasen (3) and Alan (8). Our oldest attends school here at Stewartsboro-- so you may see him before/after school! We also have two dogs, a Siberian Husky and a Pom-chi, and two cats. Most of our free time is spent at the baseball fields, as lan has ventured into the world of travel ball. We all enjoy anything sports-related, as well as time spent outdoors!
I always look forward to the daily challenges of the Preschool classroom-- you never know how the morning/afternoon will go with 3-5 year olds! But, I love the unpredictability this job brings. We celebrate the little achievements and strive for big gains!

Integrated Preschool Educational Assistants
Mrs. Leigh is one of the Educational Assistants (EA) in the classroom. She was hired as this classroom Assistant the same year I was (which was also the first year for the program at STE), so this will be our sixth year working together.
We are currently in the process of hiring for our second EA in the classroom.
The room could not function without their help, patience, and hard work! Under my guidance, they work with students daily-- so don't be surprised if you hear their names often at home, too!
